Veteran defender Javier Zanetti says he might try to win a spot in Argentina’s squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after having been left out of this year’s tournament by then coach Diego Maradona. The Inter Milan defender, who will turn 41 in August 2014, said in an interview aired late Wednesday that anything is possible.

AS Roma has signed Nicolas Burdisso from Inter Milan on a full transfer, keeping the Argentina defender in the capital after a one-year loan deal. Roma says Saturday that it will pay Inter ?8 million ($10 million) and that Burdisso has signed a four-year contract worth ?3.8 million ($4.8 million) this season and ?4.5 million ($5.7 million) for the following three seasons.
